Professional Mentoring Program 2024 Cohort 2 Timeline

The platform will elevate your experience, provide a mentoring journey with greater autonomy and transparency for participants, and facilitate a smoother and more seamless experience for mentors and mentees. 

The Professional Mentoring Program (PMP) is driven by a singular purpose – fostering professional development and meaningful career growth. Whether you are a newcomer to the field of HR, a mid-level practitioner, or a senior-level HR professional, the PMP can support you to expand, refine, and build new skills.

Important Notice for Returning Participants from Cohort 1 of Professional Mentoring Program 2024:

If you are a returning participant from Cohort 1, please be aware that you will not be able to send a matching request to your mentoring partner from Cohort 1. The MentorCity system will indicate that you have completed a mentoring relationship with your previous match, and hence, they will not appear in your search results. You will need to send a request to another mentoring partner and continue the relationship on the platform. 

Timeline/Key Dates:

Cohort 2

• June 17th – Mentoring Program Info Session REPLAY

• June 24th – July 5th – Applications open for mentors and proteges via our online store (**Login to your member profile and go to the online store)

• July 8th – 12th – Mentors and Proteges are given access to the MentorCity program to build out their mentor or protégé profiles

• July 15th – 31st – Self-matching opens in MentorCity

• July 31st – Deadline for finding and accepting a match in MentorCity

• August 1st- December 2nd – 4-month mentoring period for Cohort #2

We hosted an online information session to explain the new platform as well as the many improvements based on member feedback. This info session was recorded and the video is below. While watching this info session is not mandatory for applying to the program, it will be helpful to set you up for success.

What’s New: 

• The Professional Mentoring Program will be administered through an online platform. 
• As always we encourage everyone to apply and express their interest in either being a mentor or a protégé (or both); it is a great opportunity to create new connections. The program length has been shortened to four months and a second intake has been added.
• Participants will enjoy increased autonomy in choosing and agreeing to a match.
• The online platform is designed to be user-friendly and is equipped to facilitate a seamless mentoring process throughout your entire mentoring relationship. 
• Mentors may choose to mentor a student 1:1 rather than in a cohort format.
• If you are a participant from Cohort 1 (Feb-June) and wish to continue with your match, you can continue your relationship outside this platform and will not need to re-apply or utilize the MentorCity platform. Please only reapply if you would like to be matched with someone new.

The application processing fee: 

For Mentors: No charge 

For Protégé: $35 for General and CPHR members, and $25 for Student members
