We’re working to ensure that your hard-earned skills and experience are widely recognized around the world.
As a member province of CPHR Canada, CPHR BC & Yukon is represented through the North American Human Resources Management Association (NAHRMA) and the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA).
We are pleased to have agreements in place with other human resources jurisdictions across the globe. This allows members of CPHR BC & Yukon and collaborating organizations to acknowledge each other’s CPHR-equivalent designations as having met the standard requirements and thus, mutually recognized. Mutual recognition enables HR professionals to have their qualifications acknowledged and respected across different regions of the world.
These organizations include:
Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) in the UK
The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has been building its community of people professionals for over 100 years in the United Kingdom. Through an agreement, both organizations will mutually recognize each organization’s certification programs: CPHR and Chartered MCIPD.
To earn the Chartered MCIPD credential, CPHR BC & Yukon members must:
- Provide proof of CPHR BC & Yukon membership
- Share a current curriculum vitae with CIPD
- Complete the member application form

Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka
The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Sri Lanka is the regulatory body for the practice of human resources management in Sri Lanka. Having signed an MoU, both organizations will recognize each other’s certification programs: CPHR and MCIPM or FCIPM.
CPHR BC & Yukon members looking to receive the MCIPM or FCIPM certification should:
- Provide proof of CPHR BC & Yukon membership
- Share a current curriculum vitae with CIPM
- Send an email to CIPM Sri Lanka to initiate the process
MCIPM or FCIPM members looking to receive the CPHR designation must:
- Obtain membership with CPHR BC & Yukon
- Request CIPM Sri Lanka to provide confirmation of membership in good standing to us by email.
Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) of Nigeria
The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) of Nigeria is the regulatory body for the practice of human resources management in Nigeria. Having signed an MoU, both organizations will recognize each other’s certification programs: CPHR and MCIPM or FCIPM.

MCIPM or FCIPM members looking to receive the CPHR designation must:
- Obtain membership with CPHR BC & Yukon
- Request CIPM Nigeria to provide confirmation of membership in good standing to us by email.
Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM)
The Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM) is the most representative professional body for human resource management in Hong Kong.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishes a mutual recognition agreement between the two organizations. This agreement acknowledges the ‘substantial equivalency’ between the CPHR™ designation and HKIHRM’s professional HR designation, the M.I.H.R.M.(HK), which denotes a Professional Member of the Institute.
If you are a CPHR member in good standing with CPHR BC & Yukon, you are eligible to obtain the M.I.H.R.M.(HK) designation from HKIHRM.
CPHR BC & Yukon members applying for HKIHRM Professional Membership (M.I.H.R.M.(HK)) should:
- Submit a completed application form
- Provide written verification from CPHR BC & Yukon (indicating your CPHR designation, current membership status, and date of admission to membership)
- Pay the annual membership fee of CDN$80/HK$480 (Price is subject to change based on HKIHRM membership fee adjustments) directly to HKIHRM
- Send an email to HKIHRM to initiate the process
