In pursuing professional recognition and the authority to self-regulate CPHR BC & Yukon anticipated the need to set standards for HR education, professional standing, and practice. As a result, CPHR BC & Yukon introduced, subsequent to external invitation to comment, a voluntary regime comprising of:
- Code of Ethics & Rules of Professional Conduct
- Compliance Standard
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Standard
Taken together, these CPHR BC & Yukon standards intend to enhance protection of the public through responsible, objective, unimpaired, and ethical conduct of HR practitioners in the performance of their work by virtue of a number of professional conditions and supporting activities.
