The Vancouver Island Advisory Council handles the planning and implementation of local CPHR BC & Yukon activities and is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice.

DebPike

Chair – Deborah Pike, CPHR

Since 2009, Deb has worked at WCG Services in a variety of roles.  When Deb moved to Vancouver Island, she asked her CEO what path to follow and organization to join and the answer was hands down…HRMA.  Deb went on to achieve her CPHR status.  She started volunteering as Membership Lead and in 2017, she steps into the role of Chair.  A member since  2012, Deborah says there are many  reasons she joined CPHR BC & YK.  She enjoys the professional development events, the Members Only Breakfasts and the connection with members.

HelenWale

Outgoing Chair – Helen Wale, CPHR

Helen is an independent Executive Coach and HR Consultant working across Vancouver Island. Originally from the UK, Helen joined CPHR BC & Yukon prior to setting foot in BC and soon became actively involved as a volunteer. Helen proudly achieved her CPHR status in 2016 and is enjoying her continued involvement with CPHR BC & YK, saying that the reason she is a member is the active networking with fellow HR professionals in the community professional development opportunities.

PamelaMacIntoshSnell

Awards – Pamela MacIntosh-Snell, CPHR

Pamela is a Human Resources Consultant with Western Financial Group and has been a member of CPHR BC & Yukon since 2010.  She received her CPHR designation in 2012.  She began volunteering with CPHR BC & Yukon when she moved to Victoria in 2011.  Pamela has enjoyed the benefits that the CPHR BC & Yukon Professional Mentoring Program has to offer, as both a Protégé and a Mentor.  She joined the VI Advisory Council in 2014 as the lead for the Post-Secondary portfolio and is now lead for the Awards Portfolio.  Pamela loves being a part of the HR Professional community in Victoria and CPHR BC & Yukon has played an integral part in that for her.

Membership – Linda Beaudry, CPHR

Linda is a Senior Manager and Leader of MNP’s Management and Professional Recruitment Group for the BC Region.  Based in Victoria, Linda draws on 25 years of recruiting experience to help her clients navigate and identify high quality candidates. Linda received her CPHR in 2007, and is passionate about the human resources profession. Linda joined the CPHR BC & Yukon for the professional development, mentoring programs, career network and community partnerships, but most of all the professional relationships she has developed.

 Theresa Henriksen

Mentoring –   Theresa Henriksen, CPHR

Theresa is the Human Resources Manager with Kinetic Construction, a General Contractor servicing Vancouver Island.  Theresa has been a member of CPHR BC & Yukon since starting her career in Human Resources in 2000, recognizing the value CPHR BC & Yukon offers in building a supportive network, staying current on trends and developments in the field, and having the opportunity to contribute to the HR Community.

LyndseyNelson

Post Secondary – Lyndsey Nelson, CPHR

Lyndsey is an HR Associate with Engaged HR. Lyndsey initially volunteered as an Ambassador for the Networking Portfolio, before joining the Advisory Council as the portfolio lead in 2013. She moved into the Post-Secondary lead role in 2016 and now in her fourth year on the Advisory Council, is looking forward to rejoining the Networking portfolio to provide opportunities for members to connect in a meaningful and intentional way. A member since 2008 and CPHR, Lyndsey says the reason she is a member of CPHR BC & Yukon is to build a strong network of HR professionals that value collaboration and sharing resources.

 

Volunteering – Rebecca Verwolf

Rebecca is a People Services Assistant with BC Assessment.  Before discovering her passion for HR, Rebecca was a researcher, program coordinator, and employment advisor in the social services.  Rebecca joined CPHR BC & Yukon in 2015 while studying HR at Camosun College, and credits the welcoming HR community in Victoria for launching her new career.  As the Volunteer lead, Rebecca looks forward to helping others make valuable professional connections and furthering our thriving community of practice.

CaroleGosse

Advisor – Carole Gosse, CPHR

Carole has been serving the Vancouver Island advisory council in the role of Mentoring Lead for many years and now shares her expertise in an advisory role.  She is an instructor in the HRM program at Camosun College.
